I give thanks to my Heavenly Father everyday for my wife Pam & our son. As it is Thanksgiving Day today, I'd like to express again my gratitude by counting my blessings and mention one here... a very precious blessing that became the highlight this year... that is the coming of Edric into our lives - a bundle of joy long awaited.
As I recount that moment let me include a couple of videos that I created shortly after he was born...
Oct. 27 - Trunk or Treat at Church He hasn't seen Star Wars yet but we thought he'd be cute to be Yoda for his first Halloween costume.
Oct 31 - We were out Trick or Treating at the McVickers where Yoda met Darth Vader. No worries though for it was a friendly encounter. No lightsabers were used.
Seems like it was just yesterday when we brought him home from the hospital. Now he's starting to walk and we're getting set to chase him around. Funny how we say time flies... and yet 1 minute is still 60 seconds.
If only life is this much fun all the time... but we know it's not... and so we keep on making such fun memories and reminisce them when hard times come...
His first word was Mama & not so far distant in second was...well, what do you think? Pam called me at the office as soon as she heard Drex say Papa, so I asked her to go grab the camera quickly & capture the moment.
Sunday afternoon, we decided to check out the park near us. We've been trying to visit the Big Oak Park here in Smyrna, DE but we didn't know how to get there until last week. It's a pretty nice park just a few minutes away from home. We strolled down the boardwalk that goes through a preserved small forest with trees, shrubberies & a strip of stream. Then we stopped at the swing area where Edric had his first experience of the wind against his face while we rocked him back & forth. He was smiling most of the time & really had fun. It's so nice to have easy access to a nearby park where you can unwind, enjoy nature & have a great time with family.
Last week was the first time we brought baby Edric to a theme park. He's been watching the Sesame Street Home Video: Do The Alphabet and ususally giggles more when he sees Baby Bear so we thought he might like seeing them live too. We had a lot of fun and did enjoy the trip. We shared the time with Ellen, Joeram and LJ also. Edric had a great time there as we also cooled off at the Count's Fount wading pool - it was just above 100 degrees F that day. The shows were fun too; Big Bird's Beach Party & Abby Cadabby's Treasure Hunt.
We spent the night in Bensalem, PA just about 10 mins away from the park where we met with the Mnyandus at Extended Stay America. It was great to be with them too. The next day we drove to New York City to visit Grandma & Grandpa.
